Congratulations to the Saint Joseph High School Girls Tennis Team On Winning The State Championship

Saint Joseph High School Girls Tennis Team State ChampionsGirls Tennis Team Beat Columbus North in the IHSAA State Finals to be Crowned State Champs. During the final weekend of play they beat Zionsville in the quarter finals 4-1 and then came back on Saturday to beat Center Grove 5-0 and Columbus North 5-0 in the finals.

Members of the team are Alaina Roberts, Jessica Rink, Darby Mountford, Elle Harding, Bridget Veldman, Abby Watkins, Kayle Sexton, and Michele Fredlake. The team was coached by Bill Mountford and Dan Rogers.

Marian's Caroline Eberhart Captures State Title

State Champion Caroline EberhartAfter rallying from the brink of elimination in her semifinal match against Macie Elliott of Evansville Memorial, Caroline Eberhart claimed the singles state title with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 win over Lebanon's Bethany Moore at the Five Seasons Sports Club in Indianapolis. Eberhart's title is the first state crown in girls tennis for a local athlete since Michelle Fredlake of St. Joseph's won the title in 1975, the first year for the individual tennis tournament for girls.

"I'm really not even sure what to say," Eberhart told the Tribune by phone. "I'm so excited and don't even have words right now."
